People who purchase multiple Bat Matches usually do so because they either 1) coach a team, 2) have multiple players in their household, or 3) have a player or players that play in multiple leagues, with different bat certification requirements. Some people may want to run additional Bat Matches to see how growth of their player might affect the results, so that they can plan ahead. Finally, Whichbat Bat Matches do not expire, so when you buy them, you will know that they'll be there for the next time you need to run a query.
Why can I only purchase up to 10 Whichbat Bat Matches in a year and can I have the limit increased?
We limit the amount of Whichbat Bat Matches to 10 to protect our trade secret matching algorithm from reverse engineering. We do understand, however, that certain circumstances might make it such that you would need more. For example, we have some coaches that prefer to test and run the Bat Matches for all of their players themselves. If you have a legitimate reason for doing so, please send us an email to support@whichbat.com with an explanation for your need and we can generally accommodate you by increasing your limit.
Do you have larger Whichbat Bat Match packages for coaches?
Not by default - all users are limited to purchasing 10 Bat Matches per year. We can, however, adjust that limit on a user-by-user basis for legitimate needs. So, if you'd like to buy more than 10 in any given year, please email us at support@whichbat.com describing your need, and we can usually accommodate you.
Do you provide discount/coupon codes for leagues or other organizations?
We are happy to talk with you about discount codes for your league or other organization. Please email us at info@whichbat.com and we can evaluate your need and possibly arrange something. Please note that, depending on current Whichbat query pricing, we may or my not be able to accommodate discount codes. Providing our service at an affordable price to all is one of our main goals.
Do I need to run a new Bat Match every time my player grows or things change in their physical dimensions?
Yes. You should run a new Bat Match any time you are looking to purchase a new bat for your player. The results will change significantly as your player grows, so it's important to make sure that the right bat is in use each time. The major benefit of Whichbat is that you won't have to buy a new one every time you think that the bat is holding you back - you'll only have to buy a new bat when your player grows and needs a new one.
Why would I select a drop restriction in the Whichbat Bat Match form?
The only reason you should select a drop restriction in the form is if you know your player has to move to a certain drop at a certain age. For example, some 13U leagues and tournaments require a maximum Drop of 8 (-8). In that instance, even if your player might match up to Drop 10 (-10) you'd want to restrict it to Drop 8 (-8) bats to meet your league requirements. By default, the matching engine should include both so you can select appropriately from your list of results regardless.
How do you calculate the "Player Fit" score for a bat?
The Player Fit score that Whichbat provides is by far the most important factor to consider when making your purchase decision. The highest rated bat available for your player will always have a score of 100. The rest of the bats are scored compared to that bat. Since there are a limited number of options in the market, this is the best way to represent the differences in how you should expect it to match up to your player. The Player Fit score is the sum total of our research and represents how a particular bat should fit the player that you entered into the form - based on physics and biomechanics. We undertake extensive testing of bats and players and use the data to formulate our proprietary matching algorithm and apply it all in usable form to you.
